A lot of divers over the years have asked me "when should i do the Rescue course" the answer is? if you are a PADI Adventure Diver or PADI Advanced diver and you're feeling confident with your diving and want to learn more then you are ready. Another question is "am i either too old or not strong enough" on the Padi Rescue course you do have to be semi-fit but the majority of the exercises are brain verses brawn, which is fun to see because with rescues the key is to be flexible with your ideas.
On the course you will be supplied with your own personal Padi Rescue diver manual. In the manual that is actually interesting, you have five 15 question knowledge reviews to complete before certification. Your instructor will go over these knowledge reveiws with you and any questions you have in knowledge sessions.
On the course, the next 2 days are spent at Pattaya's coral islands, even though we are on a course we will still have time to do some fun diving on the reefs.
Accidents on dive trips can only happen in 3 places, on the surface, underwater or on the boat.
On the course you will complete 10 objectives and then 2 scenarios and here they are:
Ojectives:
1. The Tired diver tow: different tows and when to do them.
2. Panicked Diver: looking at size of victim and different methods.
3. Response from shore or boat: throwing lines, entering the water, equipment considerations.
4. Distressed diver underwater: how to look after over-exerted divers and out of air drills.
5. Missing diver: learning different search patterns and how to locate the missing diver.
6. Surfacing the unresponsive diver: different ways you can help a diver to the surface.

8. Exiting with the unresponsive diver: helping divers on the boat or shore.
9. First Aid for divers: oxygen administration and 1st Aid procedures.
10. Response from shore or boat to unresponsive diver: prepares you for your scenarios.

2. Unresponsive diver underwater: giving rescue breaths to an unconsious diver on the surface, egressing with the diver, give first aid to the diver.
