PADI eLearning Pattaya Thailand
The PADI Open Water Diver course is by far the world’s most popular scuba certification course. Millions of people have started diving as certified PADI Open Water Divers.
HOW ARE WE DIFFERENT TO OTHER DIVE CENTERS IN PATTAYA
Real Divers are a PADI 5 STAR IDC Dive Center which means we can teach beginner divers all the way to Instructor ratings and we are the only dive center in Pattaya that run their trips from our 12 meter speedboats, which means no early starts and no late finishes as we start our courses at 10 am and finish at 3 pm. (with about an hour on each of the 4 open water dives).
We’ve never had to use it before because we have a 100% safety record but you are also insured by the TAT guidelines on your dive trips as we are a TAT registered company (Tourism Authority of Thailand).
Also every student on our Open water course gets a rental dive computer which enhances safety and is a mandatory piece of equipment for every open water student not just their Instructor, you will learn more about dive computers and timing devices on the course and why each diver must have one on the dive as a diver without a dive computer or timing device could find themselves in trouble very easily, safe drivers are happy divers.
What does it cover
Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and dive skills (techniques, methods). The PADI Open Water Diver Course learning online provides the knowledge development portion you need to become a diver.
You develop the remaining skills by actually diving with an Instructor in a pool/confined session and 4 Open water coral reef dives.
To be able to participate in the PADI eLearning Open Water online program, you simply need to be at least 10 years old, fit for diving, and able to swim.

After enrolling, PADI’s eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
Prior to certification as a PADI Open Water Diver, you’ll visit your PADI Dive Center or Resort to complete your training. You’ll take a short eLearning Quick Review to confirm your understanding of safety-related material from the course, and you must successfully complete five confined water dives and four open water training dives with your PADI Instructor.
You learn and master each of the required skills in confined water (swimming pool-like conditions) first before moving on and showing your instructor that you can comfortably repeat those skills in open water. As a PADI Open Water Diver, you will be a certified entry-level diver able to rent dive gear, get air fills and dive anywhere in the world in better or similar conditions to those you’ve trained in.
The PADI eLearning fee includes an electronic version of the PADI Open Water Diver Manual (course textbook) and certification.
PADI eLearning price is 210 Aussie dollar depending on the Aussie dollar about 4,650B
Real Divers in-water training portion of the course with PADI eLearning completed 11,000B
After completing the PADI eLearning and arrive in Pattaya at our dive center you then only pay the balance of the course which is 11,000B, there are no hidden costs.
Real Divers Open water Schedule with PADI eLearning completed.
DAY 1 10am to 2pm SWIMMING POOL or CONFINED OPEN WATER 10am – 2pm. Having fun breathing underwater and learning the basic skills/safety concerns of how to be a scuba diver.
DAY 2 OCEAN 10 am – 3pm Dive planning plus 2 Ocean dives. On Open water dives 1 & 2 we have a max depth of 12 meters. The Objective is finning, buoyancy on 2 coral reef dives, You get about an hour on each dive.
DAY 3 OCEAN 10 am – 3pm Dive planning plus 2 more Ocean dives. Open water dives 3 & 4, max depth 18 meters. Objective dive planning plus 2 more coral reef dives and by now you will be relaxed and enjoying it, You get about an hour on each dive.
A diver always remembers their Open water course with fond memories, the days when everything was so new to them. Today they are still using the same fundamentals of what they learned on their Open water course and planning every dive they do.
On our Open water course, we dive from a 12-meter twin-engine speedboat named ‘Reef Seeker” because of her we don’t have so much traveling time, which means we can leave later for the islands at 10 am instead of 8 am like the larger chartered boats we use. After 2 relaxed dives with lunch and a rest/snorkel in between dives we are back at Jomtien beach, Pattaya about 3pm-ish.
When conditions are really nice, like when the beach bays are as calm and as clear as a pool, we give you the option of taking the basic open water diver skills in the shallow, clear, calm water of the beach bay where you will see fish-life and corals or we can go to the swimming pool where you will definitely see tiles, which is still fun but now you have the choice.

What is the minimum amount of time it will take to complete PADI eLearning?
The PADI Open Water Diver Course online will take approximately 12-15 hours to complete, most students I’ve asked say they did 1 or 2 hours a day study and it was easy because they could do it at their own pace and when they felt ready to learn.
Which to me is much better than being on holiday in a tropical country, with the sun out watching the people who completed PADI eLearning go to the beach, etc, while you are sitting in a classroom plus you will have assigned evening self-study to complete. I have seen this because I teach been teaching the course for a decade plus and as an Instructor who likes fun I know which option I would take. So why not check PADI eLearning out, maybe start today?
