The Padi DPV specialty can be completed in just one day, to enjoy the underwater fun all you need to be is an open water diver.
Dive propulsion vehicles are used for all types of reasons? Some divers use them to go further and adventure places where fins just can't take them, others like to use them in currents or just enjoy the ease of not having to fin, me? I just like to go balls out on them and have fun speeding around the coral reefs. The course takes 1 day to complete, all this is done on the boat at the Pattaya Islands, no classroom involved. We use the Apollo AV2 DPV which is one of the fastest recreational DPVs, 7 kmh which doesn’t sound fast until you’re on them.
On the dives you learn how to prepare the DPV and plan the dive, the buddy system, descents and ascents, ride, navigate and care for your DPV. There are two ways of riding the Apollo 2, you can use it conventionally and let it pull you along horizontally or you can sit on it and coast along leaving your hands free.
